Microsoft's Windows Azure Platform is a cloud platform offering that "provides a wide range of Internet services that can be consumed from both on-premises environments or the Internet"(though the platform itself is not made available for on-premises ). It is significant in that it is Microsoft's first step into cloud computing following the launch of the Microsoft Online Services offering.

Photosynth is a software application from Microsoft Live Labs and the University of Washington that analyzes digital photographs and generates a three-dimensional model of the photos and a point cloud of a photographed object.

This was indicated by increased demand for printed card buses (PCBs) that were destined for use as embedded devices in automobiles.
